| The 2009 Road Racing season kicked off with the BLENHEIM TRUST 5K SERIES presented by HIGHLAND SPRING WATER FLORIDA'S NATURAL JUICES The race series concluded on 13 ahead of the June 20, Olympic Day Run. Back on the Mondo track to race the "City Circuit" 28 runners battled for a season PB and finishers spot. Due to work commitments, and having secured the top spot after 4 races, the absence of Steven Asson left the field open with Adrian Dale breaking the tape and taking second overall. Both Adrian and Paul Hubbard were pushed hard by a last minute rush of new blood on the course setting a furious upfront pace, however with 3 races in the bag Paul was able to see them off for third place overall Darwn Peters flew off the start line for a 2009 series PB and an incredible 5 out of 5 first place wins to annihilate the ladies field. 600m further back Kay Reddy and Sally Blackmore slug it out step for step throughout the series with Kay pulling off a last minute lead of 4 secs to take second overall with Sally third place. |

Winners and finishers trophies will be presented at the end of the series Having demolished the competition in the Blenheim Trust 5k will Steven Asson and Darwn Peters return to set the pace in the CERES JUICES 10K? The fast, furious and fabulous finish to the 5k road running series saw a number of new blokes competing for the front positions, will they be able to stay the distance to topple Asson, Dale and Hubbard off their perch? 6.2 miles of seriously fun road racing. |
