10K Reports & Results  
2008 10K SERIES CHAMPIONS
10K LEADER BOARD
This is road running and the roads will be open, participants should therefore exercise caution
approaching the roundabouts and junctions.  Any volunteers who can assist as a marshal or at
the water stops will be very welcome.

The object of the series is the general promotion of distance running and the race is ideal for any
ability.  The series is also designed as a build up to the Steelman and the BVI Half Marathon.

The races will commence at the times stated below with registration half an hour earlier.   There
is no entry fee and Water, Energade and Ceres juice drinks are kindly provided
by the sponsor
CERES JUICES
.     Water stops will be provided at approximately 2 miles and 4 miles.

5 races are held of which 3 will constitute a 10k series.   Awards will be presented after the final
race of the series.

The dates for the series will be:

July 25th - City Circuit - Road Town, 6.30AM

August 22nd - Carrot Bay X10k - Windy Hill, 6.30AM

September, 26th - Steelman (running leg)  - Beef Island 3.00PM

October 10th - City Circuit - Road Town, 6.30PM

November 7th - BVI Half Marathon Tune Up - Road Town - 4.30PM


Course Descriptions


City Circuit (same as 5k route extended out to Prospect and Purcell round-a-bouts).

Start on the Mondo track, Bobby’s roundabout, Scotia bank, Banco Popular, Tourneau, keep left
on highway to turn around Prospect Reef roundabout, left on highway back to hospital, along
Main Street, turn by school, follow Lower Estate Road to Hunters Ghut, turn to police stations,
traffic lights, keep left to turn at Purcell roundabout and return on left to red cone opposite south
entrance, cross dual carriageway, enter track facility and finish on the Mono track at the 100m
finish line


Carrot Bay X10K

Commence at the foot of Windy Hill along the beautiful shores of Carrot Bay and Apple Bay,
through
long Bay and onto Smugglers.   Turn at Smugglers Beach and return.


Steelman

Finish times from the Steelman running leg, whether a single or team entry or just a runner.  See
www.tribvi.com for details of the Steelman triathlon.  Steelman commences at Well Bay at 3.00
pm, Cyclists start at end of runway and finish at the Bridge in front of De Coffee Shop where
the Runners commence (from 4.30pm) 3 laps of a 2 mile course.


BVI Half Marathon Warm Up

The 10k race will mirror 6.2 miles of the half marathon course.   Start in front of the Watering
Hole (by Banco Popular) follow Waterfront Drive out to Duff's Bottom, turn around cone set
before the Car Wash and return along Waterfront Drive, Bobby's roundabout, along the dual
carriageway, round Purcell roundabout, return to Bobby's roundabout, and finish back at the
Watering Hole.
