HLSCC RACE SERIES - NEXT RACE SECOND LEG - VIRGIN
GORDA OCTOBER, 4 AND TORTOLA OCTOBER 11, 2008

The 2008 HLSCC Race Series started on Virgin Gorda Saturday, September 20
and continued on October 4th.  Maxford Pipe narrowly beat Emrol Amsterdam
to take a commanding lead in the series with Lavern Fahie leading the ladies.

Steve Asson and Darwyn Peters both took a convincing lead in the Tortola
opener with the expected closely fought battle in the under 9's, school and
service club categories.

All races begin at 7:00 a.m., with registration commencing at 6:30 a.m.   Entry is
free.

Races start at the College's Virgin Gorda Centre, located at the Enid Pickering
Plaza, The Valley and in at the HLSCC campus on Tortola.

Race Director Mrs. Stephanie Russ Penn, said the College is pleased to
continue its partnership with Highland Spring Mineral Water, distributed by
Tico BVI, as main sponsor for the event.

The race series will allow unlimited participation involving all age groups in  
both "open" and "cross country" categories.  In the "cross country" category,
teams of eight compete in different divisions, including primary and secondary
schools, service clubs and community partners.
